What is Wrong with my computer?
Hey this is my first time posting a message but I really need help.
My computer will not stop crashing, every time i get on it a blue screen pops up and it says "system needs to restart to prevent damage to your computer" then some other stuff and then at lat "beginning dump of physical memory"
Now my installshield wizard will not work it keeps saying setup error -6006- i cant install anything no video card, no video card driver, nothing that has to do with installshild im sick of it.
is there anything i can do to upgrade my computer to its peak performance?
Here are my system facts:
Operating system- Windows XP
System manufacture- Dell
System Model- Dimension 4600
BIOS- Pheonix ROM BIOS PLUs version 1.10 A12
Processor- intel pentium 4 cpu 2.66GHz
Ram- 254MB
Video card (if it would install)- NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS
Thanks in advance
When ever computer start crashing (any reason), it start chain reaction of error since Win XP (operating system) files start getting corrupt and leads to more blue screen and more random error.
Only upgarde you need is RAM. Window xp (with service pack 2) needs 256 mb ram, so you have to added minimum of 256 MB ram to improve performance for running other application.
In short, upgrade to 512mb ram(minimum, but more the better ),reinstall xp, ensure you use genuine (microsoft certifed) drivers (for display, sound etc),use good antivirus & firewall (freely avaliable from net), keep XP upto date.
