I purchased a laptop with a Core 2 Duo T5600 (1.66Ghz) CPU. I have a question about processor Upgradeability.
Intel recently released a new processor line (code named Santa Rosa) which uses the 478-pin Micro FCPGA. Is this processor line the future, and does it use the same socket as the cpu in my computer. The Santa Rosa processors are odd numbered T7100,T7300, etc. While the model in my laptop is from the even numbered line-T7200,T7400, etc. They have different FSB (Front Side Bus) speeds and generally use different chipsets, 945 v.s. 965. What does this mean for the new extreme edition chips like the X7800? Don't answer if you don't know. If you do know, I would greatly appreciate any feedback. I know it is a complicated question.
i don't think u can upgrade ur current processor to the new line of intel processors, compatibility issues will make it impossible , it doesn't use the same socket , so u can't upgrade to it , maybe u can consider upgrading to higher speed and FSB in the future but stick to the same line of ur current processor
Hope I helped.
