Pro-life or Pro-choice...That's It? Or is There Another Option?

Everything in life is not in "black" or "white." From childhood, we have been taught to look at so many aspects of life as definitive, when in fact, things aren't always that simple or clear-cut. We are fortunate to live in a country where people are not forced to limit the number of children to one or none. We have a great amount of freedom and liberties that we enjoy in America. We live in a country where not only is everything not simply in terms of "black" or "white," the people that live here are a testament to our country's great diversity, opportunities, and options.

The same holds true with regard to pregnancy. For far too long, we have been made to feel that there are only two options for women when they become pregnant...that they can only have one of two views. Either your perspective is pro-life or pro-choice...that's it. Pick a side and stick with it. But, that couldn't be farther from the truth. There is another option for women. How about adoption?

Adoption is a very real and possible alternative for women who have found that they are faced with making a decision about an unplanned pregnancy. While the decision, for most, is not an easy one, the reality is that it is an option. Adoption is a true alternative for women and their babies.

Adoption is an option that can have a positive impact on the lives of so many people. Women facing an unplanned pregnancy feel they are doing the right thing for their child by offering it the best life possible. She is also able to look at the long-term possibilities of her life, her goals and dreams about her future, and not just the here and now.

Adoption can also have an exceptionally wonderful effect in the lives of the adoptive parents. Their dream of parenthood becomes their reality and they have a chance to give a child a better life than the child may otherwise not had. Of course, the child gets to be the center of their adoptive parents’ world, where he or she is given the love, financial support, encouragement, and guidance that will be needed as they live and grow. Many women today choosing adoption do so because they know they’re helping a couple become a family through adoption. Also, they will know the simple fact of where and whom the child will be raised by. Women looking at options do not want to co-parent, but turn something that could be viewed as a crisis in their lives into a positive result for everyone involved.

So, in short, life is not as basic as black/white or pro-choice/pro-life. There is so much that adoption has to offer and our personal situations can be changed when we know and understand this basic fact. There are options that exist, happy mediums, and loads of alternatives for pregnant women, for pregnant teenagers, and anyone else that finds themselves facing an unplanned pregnancy. Other options are available to you. Adoption is one of them, and as a woman it can absolutely be a possibility for you and your child.

The Brand New Dell Venue Pro

Like NASA’s infamous Mars Climate Orbiter episode, Dell rushed ahead with its Venue Pro and is now suffering the inevitable consequences. The Venue Pro, a gorgeous and capable smart phone equipped with Windows Phone 7 and locked to T-Mobile, should, by specs alone, have caught the smart phone world by storm.

$125 million worth of man-hours and labor disappeared into the garish Martian void on September 23, 1999, as NASA’s Mars Climate Orbiter disintegrated in the gases of the Martian atmosphere. Due to simple unit conversion errors, the Mars Climate Orbiter dropped too low into the atmosphere and fell apart. Dell seems to be following in NASA's footsteps.

The Dell Venue Pro is a gorgeous creation. At 122 x 63.5 x 15.2mm and 6.74 ounces, it is a sizeable smart phone. Sporting a sophisticated industrial design, the rectangular Venue Pro has a seamless black front with rubberized edges, chrome side plates and a glitzy grayish-silver back. It is available with a Dell Venue Pro case and other Dell Venue Pro Accessories. Most of the sleek face is filled with a 4.1-inch AMOLED contoured multi-touch screen display, built with durable Gorilla Glass and equipped with a scratch-resistant and fingerprint-resistant coating, available with a Dell Venue Pro screen protector. Many who have had a chance to test out the Dell Pro have claimed that the screen is very fast and responsive. The resolution is 480 x 800 pixels and the screen has very crisp and vivid colors.

A 3.5 mm headphone jack rests on the top of the phone, while the two-level shutter key and volume rocker hide on the right side. The Venue Pro’s exceptional speakers and microUSB port are placed at the bottom of the design, as are the Venue Pro’s portrait-style sliding 4-row QWERTY keyboard and capacitive touch Back, Start and Search buttons. The phone has no microSD card storage slot. Many users say that they often press more than one button because they are to close and a bit too small.

Beneath the hood, the Dell Venue Pro runs on Microsoft Windows Phone 7. This operating system is traceable and has a very unique live tile interface that is easy to use. The platform has garnered much praise and little criticism, but pundits do note that it does not support third-part multitasking nor the quintessential “Copy and Paste” feature. The phone’s powerplant is a 1GHz SnapDragon processor, which works with 512/256MB RAM and a mediocre 8GBs of internal storage. Even though this smart phone is very fast and responsive, many will complain about the 8 GB of internal storage since many new devices have a minimum of 16 GB. An optional 16GB internal memory version is available. The phone does include some other software goodies for the techies, such as an accelerometer, proximity sensor, GPS, Bluetooth, and digital compass. The virtual keyboard is said to be the best virtual keyboard to ever be made. The phone is powered by a Li-Ion battery with up to seven hours of talk time.

Ergonomics have been hit hardest by Dell’s design mistakes. A high-resolution 5MP camera with LED flash should be a help, but its blurry pictures and lack of memory functions make it a hindrance. 3G and 4G Wi-Fi should be a selling point, but the first batches of Venue Pros were unable to connect to some secure 3G Wi-Fi networks and suffer from an iPhone 4-like “death grip.” Dell has resolved many of the initial problems and is currently working on revamping issues such as speaker crackling, service response, and camera quality issues. Due to unforeseen flaws, Dell’s protégé is teetering on the brink of market failure. Let’s hope it does not topple.

How to get rid of zits/pimples fast?

Ok, im 13 and I hate the white heads, black heads, and zits on my face. I've been washing my face with normal soap, but it just doesnt seem to work. If possible can you tell me how to get rid of them at my house, possibly with house items most people have, and yes I have tried pro activ but, the the scrub and the cleanser run out really fast, so I don't see the point of spending $50 every 3 weeks for pro activ. Please, im tired of my ugly zits.

1st , altho the zits are making you feel ugly,.....dont let them get you down!! They are a natural part of growing up . Now for a cure.....go to any grocery store and see if they have a hard bar soap called Fels Naptha. it is very cheap and is usually in the laundry section. wash your face, and only your face with this soap 2x a day for a week and then 1x daily until the zits are all gone. I have advised several teens to try this old time remedy and they all reported that it works like a charm . The bar can be broken in 1/2 and will last you at least a month if not longer.

XtremeMac InCharge Home USB charger for iOS devices (TUAW)

A couple of weeks ago, we ran a post about the release of the XtremeMac
InCharge Home USB charger (US$29.99) for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Now the
device is available in the wild, and one was sent to the sprawling TUAW Labs
for hands-on testing. Read on for a detailed look at this ultra-portable
charger for your favorite iOS device.

### Design

Let's face it -- if you try to put one of Apple's little power cubes into a
pocket, you're likely to be asked "is that a charger in your pocket or are you
not too happy to see me?" Yep, they make an awkward little bump in your
pocket, with the iPad's charger being a little larger and even more obtrusive.

XtremeMac managed to put a full 10W, 2.1A charger into an exceedingly thin
package. The InCharge Home USB charger, which features a glossy black front to
match your favorite iOS device screen, is just under a half of an inch thick
(12.7 mm). It's also extremely light, weighing in at just 1.6 ounces (45
grams). By comparison, Apple's standard iPad charger is an inch thick (25.4
mm) and weighs 2.3 ...
