A dual core processor consists of two separate cores, each core handles incoming data strings simultaneously to improve efficiency, and each core has its own cache. In single core or traditional processor strings of instructions must order, execute then selectively store in its cache for fast recovery. When data outside the cache is necessary, it is retrieved through the system bus from random access memory (RAM) or from storage devices. Accessing these slows down performance to the maximum speed the bus, RAM or storage device will allow, which is far slower than the speed of the CPU. The situation is compounded when multi-tasking. In this case the processor must switch back and forth between two or more sets of data streams and programs. CPU resources are useless and performance suffers.

Features
The device features the StarCore SC140 DSP with a speed maximizing at 250 MHz. It also has an ARM11 applications processor with a maximum speed of 532 MHz. Other features include Quad-band GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz and WCDMA tri-band 850/1900/2100 MHz. HSDPA has 3.6 Mbps. There is also an optimization for open operating systems such as Symbian and Linux, excluding the addition of any accelerator or processor.
There is a single antenna interference that cancels the GMSK or Gaussian minimum shift keying. Wireless connectivity features include the Bluetooth interface support, wireless local area network or WLAN and Digital Video Broadcasting-Handhelds or DVB-H interface support. What's the difference between a Quad and Duo processor?
So I got this Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q6600 (8MB L2 cache,2.4GHz,1066FSB) and a ntel® Core™2 Duo Processor E4600 (2MB L2 Cache,2.4GHz,800 FSB).
The Quad would be $100 more. I like to do gaming. Which one would you recommend? Is it worth the 100 bucks?
And what's the difference?

Quad = 4, Duo =2.
The Quad has 4 processor cores, the Duo has 2 processor cores.
Go for the quad - you can use better/faster memory, , it has far more cache, and more games will come out that use all 4 cores.
