My Bios on my Dell 8400 Is really messed up. Random Characters apper all over my screen until windows comes up

I recently installed a 7700 cu Zalman fan into my computer. The power 3pin molex was not combatable with my motherboard. While i was waiting to get a converter i started up my computer and started to play counter strike. The computer was running fine for about 10-15 minutes before it started showing unexplainable shapes and images in the game. I immedaly shut off the computer thinking i fried something. Later that day i ran out to comp USA and got the converter for the fan. The fan ended up working great, but when i went to start up the computer it was still acting strange. I reformated the Hard drive and reinstalled windows. Although the Bios is still acting very strange the computer is working well (Im currently using it). I started reinstalling drivers for my computer, the video card one was last. I restarted the computer and windows did not work at all. I restarted the in safe mode and removed the Driver. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

get an updated driver for your videocard. Is it a separate videocard or onboard graphics? Check the bios and see if onboard graphics is disabled so you can use the separate video card
